I think the best way of describing why i just dont enjoy using this site is the way people spread awareness about social issues, and recent events in palestine have really brought this to life. Like, on every other website, posts that spread awareness are just "this bad thing is happening! Donate to these charities and call your representative and sign these petitions to help!" And then that same post on tumblr goes "not that any of you liberals/americans/etc care, but this bad thing just happened." And then there's only a 50/50 chance that post comes with a call to action of some sort rather than just ending after the guilt tripping. It feels like some of you go out of your way to make these situations feel hopeless by implying that no one cares and then not showing ways to help

Time has two puberties. Due to all his time travelling and weird time loops, his body has had some side effects from the magic. It doesn’t effect him in his early years too much but as he got older (around his late 40s) he started to grown again. And that’s why he’s so fucking big as the hero’s shade.

Wind can get glimpses of ghosts from time to time. They dont interact with him and its more like ‘something in the corner of his eye.’ But whenever he visits one of the others ‘lost woods’ all he can see are the ghosts of lost travellers and children. It gets so bad he has to wear a blind fold.

When Hyrule stands in fairy circles (a ring of mushrooms) he can see the magical dust trails that fairies leave behind when they fly. He can practically feel the energy buzz through his body when he stands in the centre. Is WILDY protective of fairy circles consider how RARE they are in his hyrule. (Protective i mean he wont let anyone stand too close/stand in them, wont let them pluck the mushrooms for food or damage it in any way.)

When Twilight first transformed back into his human form after being turned to a wolf, hin k9s got very long and sharp. He didn’t notice at first until he visited the kids from his village and a few of them flinched when he smiled. He immediately filed them down after that, tearing up at the memory of the kids backing away in fear.

Wind is very sensitive when it comes to textures. So bad that he’ll feel the need to vomit/gag when he touches a texture he hates. Some of the boys didn’t understand this ar first and thought he was just being dramatic, one day they took their teasing too far and tricked him to wearing an item of that texture for a day. After 10 minutes Wind had a sensory overload for the first time in front of the boys. They boys never did it again and were much more careful when it came to textures (those who played the ‘prank’ sincerely apologized and made it up to Wind each in their own way)

I feel like a lot of online outrage culture makes sense when you look at it like:

the internet makes the world way bigger > you're exposed to way more horrible problems around the globe > you realize you have no way of directly fixing those problems > you settle for talking about those issues > you equate action with thoughts and discussions > you have to only think about 'good things' all the time to be good

"reblog to signal boost" does nothing if that's all your activism is. violent video games don't make people violent anymore than bodice rippers make people rapists. making yourself miserable for the sake of 'doing something' is antithetical to progress. doing your daily Arab.org clicks, volunteering at a local domestic abuse shelter, or even just taking a walk to decompress and heal to live a little bit longer does the world way more good than tearing each other down online for a perceived character flaw.

actions will always, always, always matter more than thoughts or intent; for better or worse.

I very much prefer those who write Star showing that struggle. While not framing it as him just flatly being an asshole, instead reflected in his guilt afterwards, but not also discrediting the hurt his actions deal. Because he can be and has been, both the victim, and abuser; which seems to be an impossible oxymoron in so many people's eyes. Even some who favor Starscream Ive seen fall into that helpless little sheep portrayal, which can imo show a bit of their own need for self reflection. Like how kitts had evaluated how they related to Star, why, and admitting the faults we too are capable of. As well as knowing that doesn't make us evil.

Regret, and reconciliation is what separates someone who will never let go of that cold vacuum of fire (which Megatron very often is more inclined to), and those who search for a warmer flame. Though that search has its dangers, like the fear of being burned by it.

Because that internalized abuse is a defensive response, as well as those toxic rationalizations. Like in dragqueenstarscream's example, Star mirrored Megatron's bitter, blame placing tendency by degrading Optimus for failing to meet Starscream's standards he had envisioned of him. Expectations can be a dangerous thing. But then of course, once he saw that more soft, deep hurt that resulted from his words that had affirmed Optimus' worries: he regrets it.

Then comes the instant back tracking, though these sort of interactions, especially after the fact, are hella hard to navigate.

I know my own anger and those moments of outbursts, and degrading words, can give this odd sense of hard release, in the moment. Until that loud silence that results can feel harsher than merely making your fist bleed punching a brick wall. It's honestly why I fear trying to raise kids (Which is also why I find hearing kitts' exploration of Star with their OC Arcane and their potential family dynamic interesting, y'know that shit ain't easy), cuz I struggle interacting with my doge in those ways...Projecting that "I know you're smarter than this" expectation whenever she does something ridiculous, or doesn't understand something I think she should. Which rlly is a reflection of things I've experienced directed at me, that I then think to myself, and back onto a doge that doesn't actually understand the English so it feels easier for some reason. Though, it's still really hard to break that knee jerk reaction, even when you realize you're doing it.

i need to see more starop where starscream is having trouble breaking the cycle, so he falls back into his old habits.

one of the most difficult parts about breaking the cycle of abuse is trying your hardest to not repeat the behaviors your abuser imprinted on to you. speaking from experience, it can be very hard when you enter a healthy relationship and find yourself thinking like your abuser.

so imagine, starscream finally joins the autobots. by some unfortunate circumstance, they lose an important battle. optimus encourages his team, but privately, he retreats to somewhere isolated to think. starscream finds him and asks what he's doing.

when optimus admits that he's disappointed in himself for not doing the best he could on the battlefield, starscream finds himself scoffing. "well, maybe we wouldn't be in the position if you'd done a better job to begin with," he grumbles, his voice slowly escalating. "i thought you were supposed to be some great leader. or is your reputation all a myth? because of you, now the decepticons have the advantage, and we're one step closer to losing this war!" outraged that optimus hasn't said anything, he shouts, "are you even listening to me, prime?!"

when optimus turns his helm to look up, starscream is spooked by what he sees. he doesn't see the face of someone about to drop to his knees and beg for mercy. instead, the look in his normally lively blue optics can best be described as haunted, almost dead, but clinging onto the last shreds of life.

the realization hits starscream like enemy fire. his voice box shorts out as he trips over his own words, trying to take them back. one thought comes to mind, and he knows optimus is thinking it, too.
